Abstract
Introduction: The prolonged armed conflict and the impact of its consequences following the signing of the Peace Treaty generated profound psychosocial impacts on Colombian communities. These impacts include the fragmentation of the social fabric, distrust, and limited citizen participation. In this context, the Development and Peace Programs were designed as initiatives aimed at promoting territorial reconciliation and strengthening social capital. Objective: The objective of this study was to analyze, through the voices of community leaders, the impact of these programs on psychosocial transformation and peacebuilding. Methods: This study used a multimodal qualitative design grounded in a hermeneutic approach and supported by analytical procedures drawn from grounded theory. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 community leaders with extensive experience in the selected programs. The data were analyzed through open, axial, and selective coding with the support of qualitative analysis software. Results: The results demonstrate a transition from conditions of vulnerability, isolation, exclusion, and fear to scenarios of social cohesion, citizen empowerment, and strengthening of community mental health. Furthermore, the authors observed that the programs facilitated processes of collective agency and increased critical political participation. Another crucial finding was the impact on the redefinition of traumatic experiences through dialogue, free expression, and trust-building. Conclusions: The programs supported processes of identity reconfiguration, psychosocial resilience, and the recovery of collective voice in the participating communities.
